Individual product pages contain sizing information to help you choose the most appropriate size. If you’re unsure, please contact us and we’ll be happy to advise.

Do you have a size guide?

Yes. Please refer to the size information provided on the relevant product page. As fits can vary between different styles, we recommend checking the information for the specific garment you’re considering.

What should I do if I’m between sizes?

Get in touch with our team before ordering. Tell us the garment you’re considering and your usual size and, where helpful, your measurements. We can advise on the most appropriate option based on the intended fit of the garment.

Can I have my garment altered to fit me perfectly?

Please contact us to discuss your requirements. Depending on the garment and alteration required, our team can advise on the options available.

Can I get sizing advice from a member of your team?

Absolutely. Sizing and fit are an important part of what we do. Contact us with the garment you’re considering and we’ll be happy to provide individual advice.

Made to Order

What is the difference between Ready to Wear and Made to Order?

Ready to Wear garments are produced in our standard size range and are available to purchase from stock. Made to Order allows you to commission selected Shaw’s tailoring in your chosen size and configuration, with a range of available style options.

How does the Made to Order process work?

Choose from the available cloths and select your preferred style and details. Our Made to Order tailoring is produced using Shaw’s in house block and is available in standard jacket sizes.

How long does Made to Order take?

Our current Made to Order tailoring typically takes approximately 4-5 weeks from order to delivery. We’ll advise you if the expected lead time for a particular commission differs.

Can I choose my own fabric, lining and details?

Made to Order offers a curated selection of cloths and design options. Available choices depend on the garment and collection. For a much wider choice of fabrics, linings, styling details and an individually fitted garment, our Made to Measure service may be more suitable.

Made to Measure

What is Made to Measure?

Our Made to Measure service creates a garment specifically for you, combining your individual measurements and fit requirements with a wide choice of fabrics and styling options. The service is available for both men and women.

How does the Made to Measure process work?

Your commission begins with a consultation where we discuss the garment, how you intend to wear it, your preferred fit, cloth and design details. We take your measurements and use these to create your individual garment before bringing you back for a fitting and any necessary refinements.

How are my measurements taken?

Measurements are taken in person by a member of the Shaw’s tailoring team as part of your consultation.

How long does Made to Measure take?

We generally allow approximately 4-6 weeks to the first fitting. Depending on the garment and any adjustments required, the complete process can take approximately 6-12 weeks.

How many fittings will I need?

This depends on the individual commission and the adjustments required. Our priority is getting the finished garment right rather than working to a fixed number of fittings.

Can I choose my own fabric, lining and details?

Yes. A major part of Made to Measure is creating a garment around your personal requirements. We offer an extensive selection of tailoring cloths alongside choices for linings, buttons and styling details. Our team can guide you through the options during your appointment.

Garment Care

How should I care for my garment?

Always follow the care instructions provided with your garment. Different fibres and constructions require different care, so if you’re unsure, contact us before cleaning or treating your garment.

How do I store my tailoring correctly?

We recommend hanging tailored garments on a supportive, appropriately sized hanger with enough space around the garment to maintain its shape. Allow tailoring to air between wears and avoid prolonged storage in plastic garment covers.

What should I do if my garment gets stained or damaged?

Avoid attempting aggressive stain removal yourself, particularly on wool, cashmere, silk or other delicate fabrics. Contact a reputable specialist cleaner or repairer for advice. If you’re unsure, our team will be happy to point you in the right direction.

Appointments

How do I book an appointment?

Contact the Shaw’s team to arrange an appointment. We offer appointments in London as well as a travelling Made to Measure service across the UK, allowing us to meet clients at a location that suits them.

What should I expect at my first Made to Measure appointment?

Your first appointment is an opportunity for us to understand what you’re looking for. We’ll discuss the garment, how and where you intend to wear it, your preferred fit and style, and guide you through suitable cloths and design options. We’ll then take your measurements and confirm the details of your commission.
